Willis Anderson Sutton scrapbooks, 1924-1943.

The collection consists of nineteen scrapbooks, September 1924-December 1943. Consisting primarily of clippings collected from Georgia newspapers by a clipping service, the scrapbooks document Willis Anderson Sutton's career as superintendent of the Atlanta public schools. A few items of correspondence from colleagues and associates and printed material are also included.

Willis Anderson Sutton, educator and administrator, was born November 19, 1879 and died in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1960. Sutton served as superintendent of the Atlanta public schools (1921-1943); executive officer of the Georgia Education Association (1944); guest lecturer for Readers' Digest (1944-1954); and an independent lecturer until about a year and a half before his death.
